NaNoWriMo
Its that time again. NaNoWriMo begins in a few days and I’m thinking about doing it.
I go thru this every year and am feeling ambiguous about it.
What is NaNoWriMo? The “National Novel Writing Month” organization hosts a website where you can challenge yourself to write a novel (50,000 words) within 30 days – specifically, from November 1st to the 30th. There is no competition, except with yourself, and it can be grueling, but ultimately a LOT of fun.
I “won” the contest in 2004 and 2005, and have attempted to do it again since then, but life has been pretty busy the past few Novembers and I didn’t follow thru.
I love the NaNoWriMo and love being challenged. Hm. Maybe I’ll do it this year.
Want to do it with me?
If only I had any novel writing ability, I totally would. I know you say it doesn’t have to be good, but still–I don’t even know where to begin to write something that long. It’s a good idea though. November is such a busy month to do something like that too, though. Hmmm…I’m seriously considering this. Will let you know.
Don’t be chicken. It doesn’t have to be a fictional novel – think of it as one big blog… HA!
